|Description||In early spring, Tsukigase is one of the best places in Nara to view plum (“ume”) blossoms. The flower is often mentioned in Japanese haiku or renga; it is also said to offer protection against evil and is usually planted in the northeast of a garden. The pink, red, and white blossoms have a very sublte, refreshing fragrance. This festival, held in Tsukigase, is near a lake and is an idyllic way to welcome spring while visiting Nara.|
