- Originally built as the official residence for the U.S. consulate, the house was known as the ‘White House’ from its white color. It was renovated and opened as an art museum after the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake. The open-air café of the museum is very popular with a great view of all the Ijinkans (former western residences) on the street.
